WPST Bridal Shower

Toilet Paper Dress

A couple weeks ago, the radio station I listen to (94.5 WPST) started advertising a contest. One of the women on the morning show is getting married (so there’s lots of useful wedding talk) and the station is throwing her a bridal shower. So they were inviting listeners who are also getting married a chance to attend the shower and receive one of every gift the honoree, Wendy, receives. I entered online and got a phone call last week that I was chosen!!

Flo and I attended the shower Sunday, the 24th, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hamilton. The hotel is beautiful, and the set up for the shower was very nice. I would estimate there were about 20 other brides there. We were greeted at the door with champagne and walked around sampling items from the different vendors who sponsored our gifts. Then we had a sit down brunch with table-side wine service, coffee and assorted cakes and cookies. We played one bridal shower game where we divided into teams of 4 and dressed one person up in a toilet paper wedding dress. I was the one in the fancy dress. Unfortunately not fancy enough as we didn’t win, but still a fun time.

Shower Gifts

In the end I came home with quite a nice stash of things including a “Bride” tote bag, a “Bride” towel, a wedding planning guide,
a bottle of champagne, an engrave-able cake serving set, a homemade flower headpiece, a decorated “bride” caramel apple, a TJ-Maxx gift box which included a fake bird-cage decoration filled with a set of dessert plates, nail care items, notepads, a Food Network cookbook, a couple small gift cards… and then a couple gift bags with small samples and gift cards/coupons to the vendors products and services. Definitely a fun experience and a nice haul home- THANK YOU WPST!!
