Winery Tour

Yesterday my friend, Flo, and I braved the storm and set out on a four winery tour.  I always thought a vineyard wedding would be a good fit for Alex and I, but it probably won’t be at any of the ones we visited.  The first, Old York Cellars, decided on Friday that they were no longer allowing weddings to be hosted at the vineyard, so that’s an easy decision.  Unionville Vineyards was nice, but maybe a little too rustic for my taste…  Crossings Vineyard and Winery was my favorite of the day, but the weddings they host are full service and cookie-cutter, and I just don’t know if that’s us.  It’s a good option to consider though I think.  New Hope Winery, our last stop, was only a winery and no actual vineyard, so it was more of an event space with a country store in the front.  All in all, nice to start looking at places and get an feel for what venues offer and cost for space versus ones who provide service.  Hoping the upcoming Bridal Expos will leave me even more prepared.  Until then, I’ll be doing some more online research…

Thank you for stopping by Old York Cellars. Although we can host private wine tastings, local zoning ordinances and state agricultural laws prohibit us from hosting weddings.
